This was a fast paced, steamy romp, filled with action, humor, mystery, romance, attention to detail, and enough tension to keep me turning pages anxious to find out how things worked out. The characters are well developed and believable. The relationship between the two main characters was handled extremely well and developed naturally and credibly. The dialog was great. The New Orleans setting and descriptions are vivid without being overdone or boring. The musical references were a terrific backdrop to the story and setting. The author did a great job of foreshadowing events without giving the surprises away. And I appreciated the respect and solid research used about Tarot cards and witchcraft. This was a great story, written by a terrific word slinger. I recommend it especially, to those who love their romance stories hot and heavy. Well done! I look forward to seeing more in this series and more of this writer’s stories.Product details

It is a very short vampire romance between a voodoo shop girl and a fairly young vampire. Short and uncomplicated read, but was interesting throughout. There is plenty of heat, but no rushed or awkwardness to the story.

The character's were fascinating and easy to fall in like with and the evil was easy to hate. I love romance and paranormal and this gave me everything that I wanted. This was a book filled with romance, mystery, humor, and intense connection.
First time reading Alyssa and I loved it. This book was hot. I could not put it down until I finished reading it. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking to read it and aren’t sure if they want to. Trust me, you will love it.

Luca is a dissatisfied vampire. He's no longer happy to feed and have sex, especially with his maker, Betina. Collette reads his tarot cards and tells him that he will have a battle that will require him to make a great sacrifice...a permanent one. Colette and Luca grow close, and she gives Luca the push he needed to try to break away from Betina. Of course, Betina isn't happy with that, and one event after another leads to danger. This story packed a lot for a short story. Each character was well developed and the plot was excellent. It kept my attention from page one till the end. Which the ending by the way was unexpected. It kept me in suspense and sitting on the edge of my seat. Collette and Luca's love scenes were steamy and hot. The relationship developed rather quickly but was based on friendship. It was instant attraction for these two and they helped each other get through their own difficulties. Collette was alone and so was Luca. Although Luca was trapped by his lunatic maker Betina and her new boytoy. He longed to be free of her and her crazy ways. He enlists Collette for help and unwittingly draws her into his dangerous drama. An excellent read.

This doesnt have much depth in it which is why I didnt necessarily like it. There was a plot but a choppy one at that. It was a novella and not long. The end wasnt satisfying either and so many unanswered questions linger. I mean yeah it was sorta a HFN but meh not knowing what Collette's reaction will be just didnt work for me. Luca's character just seemed kinda lazy. Asking a reader to tell him what to do. Whether he should do something about his situation or not. Seems a little weak for such a strong vampire. Just sayin. This contained quite a bit of sex and not so much story. Which I've read those before but was able to get more out of those compared to this one. Lots of readers will probably like this and some like me wont. Read and make your own judgement.

The story unfolds rather quickly. Luca is a fairly young vampire who is attracted to Collette who works in the French Quarter at a store that does tarot readings and sells various types herbs. Collette isn't aware Luca is a vampire or that his sire is bat crap crazy and jealous of Luca and Collette. This causes Luca to ask Collette to bind Betina so that he can make his break from her.
